e-Ministries Devotions
article #0007
by: Jon Justvig
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that Heaven and Earth was created, day and light divided like the clouds
and water, finally man and woman.

Remember the Tree of Life?  That was the only tree that man was ordered to
eat there-of.  What about the Tree of Knowledge, knowing good and evil?  Why
would want to even know evil?  I remember when I was younger, I had to learn
how to act up and misbehave.  It wasn't something I wasn't born with.  One
thing I can remember to resemble this was cursing.  I'm not going to lie, I
have used cursed words quite a bit in my life; especially when I hit my toe
on something and it really hurts.  Have you ever blunted something out and
you're like, omgz, God forgive me.  Remember, we're only human.  So, there
is too is this Tree of Knowledge.

Gen 3:1 (KJV) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field
which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said,
Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

This serpent was cunning and crafty.  Using God's own words to twist the
Truth.  We've got to be on guard with what we allow in our heart, sould and
mind.  If the Truth isn't written in the Word, then it's not the Truth.
Read the Word for yourself.  We listen to God when we read and when we
pray, we talk to God through our Spirit that's within us.  God has, nor will
he ever fail us.  We may not understand his plan, but He has a time, purpose
and plan for everything in accordance to His Word.  If we can keep His Word
planted in our hearts towards every thought, action and situation, can you
imagine on where in life with the Lord we would be?

Pro 4:20 (KJV) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my
sayings.

Pro 4:21 (KJV) Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst
of thine heart.

Pro 4:22 (KJV) For they are life unto those that find them, and health to
all their flesh.

Pro 4:23 (KJV) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the
issues of life.

The Word has Truth for every problem or issue in life, whether it seems
good or bad.  The Truth is the Truth.  They say Truth hurts, this is true.
Sometimes it can really hurt bad, but also the Truth can set you free!

Joh 8:31 (KJV) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye
continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Joh 8:32 (KJV) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free.

We see here that Truth is good and the Word is the Truth; everything in
disagreement with the word is false.

Now that the serpent has said to the woman what God had told the woman in
the garden.  Testing her to see knowing He could persuade her into doing
something that God had strickly forbidden.

Gen 3:2 (KJV) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit
of the trees of the garden:

Gen 3:3 (KJV) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the
garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it,
lest ye die.

You know when we sin, sometimes we wonder why nothing happens to us at the
moment when we sin.  Just like a good Father, God provides a way out to
learn.  Disobedience comes disipline.  Sometimes we don't even know why we
do certain things.  Wonder, is this really wrong?  All those sorts of
things.  My brothers and sisters in the Lord, pray and read the scriptures.
Keep your thoughts in His Word and your sight on Him.  We walk by faith
and not by sight.  Keep believing and don't give up!  I encourage you to
keep focused!

Now the woman is telling this serpent what God had said to her.  Now, the
serpent knew that she would not die "immediately" and twisted God's word
to convince her to do what God had forbidden.  It's like this with a lot of
what we do.  We think, oh, it's not going to hurt.  If we only knew the end
result.

Gen 3:4 (KJV) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen 3:5 (KJV) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your
eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

You know, living life for awhile, you sometimes wish you knew some things
you wish you had never wanted to know, but we just had to do it our way and
we're stuck with grievence.

This woman ate of this fruit that was forbidden by God and her eyes were
opened, knowing good and evil.  Just like that, she showed it to man and too
did man eat of this fruit.

Gen 3:6 (KJV) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and
that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband
with her; and he did eat.

You know what taste good, looks good isn't always best for you.  It's called
temptation.  It's good for a moment in time, but ultimately, it can destroy
anybody.

May peace rest with you.

Hey thanks for uploading another article, I have read the content therein, and must reminds myself, that all was created in God and for his purposes. That means the enemy Satan who face, has purpose to God, to bring us closer to him. It all started off with two disobedient children of God, and ended in us becoming clean as Jesus died for us on the cross to become children once more. This is not to say that we must not cautious, it just says that even your worst days are sent to bring you closer to God. Thank you for this article, it has helped reminded me that on my darkest days, I can be thankful, because it has brought me closer to Jesus. =)

Amen Brother!

Everything has a season and purpose. When one door closes another opens. If we see a loss, remember there is a greater reward around the corner we don't see yet! In our darkest days, light can shine its brightest!
